Thomas Watts is an artist based in Bristol. From an early age, he explored various artistic pursuits, including music, art, and photography. More recently, he has combined these interests with another enduring passion—cars and motorsport.
His technique is characterised by the use of a single colour, focusing on intricate details that can be appreciated both up close and from a distance. After refining this approach, he turned his attention to capturing dynamic depictions of iconic motorsport events and vehicles.
Often mistaken for prints, his work is created using acrylic on paper, though he has begun experimenting with acrylic on canvas to produce larger-scale pieces. Each artwork requires up to 70 hours to complete, with most of the creative process taking place during evenings and weekends alongside his career as a financial crime specialist at a Bristol-based law firm. The signature use of blue in his paintings is simply a reflection of his favourite colour.
