Lisa Travers is a Bristol based collage and mixed media artist. Her original hand cut layered collages have been exhibited at the RWA, Spike Island, 44AD artspace and Bruton Art Factory. Design commissions include Bestival and Glastonbury festivals. Lisa works from her studio space in The People’s Republic of Stokes Croft, a community owned creative enterprise venue in the heart of Bristol. Lisa transforms the overlooked into the hypnotic. You can’t help but be drawn in. Shining a light on these secret worlds, Lisa celebrates our shared anatomy, delighting in the rhythms and pulses within. The intimacy of the collages invite the viewer to slow down and look closer, whereas her Klecksograph paintings mean that in order to understand the whole you must take a step back to gain perspective. Lisa celebrates opposites. A late diagnosis of AuDHD has enabled her to understand these dualities in herself and her process. Tidy precision can harmonise with wild wanderings, resulting in beautiful organised chaos.
Lisa is currently represented by Sandra Higgins Gallery, Shire's Yard, Bath.
