I loved painting when I was very young, forgot and didn't have time for it between ages of 10 and 49, and rediscovered it on a sabbatical from work - a life changing experience for me.  I started with with courses in drawing, print making and metal sculpture but now I just paint.  I love to paint and sketch outdoors, on trips, and with friends - and often also work in the peace of my studio.  I'm often inspired by nature's drama or beauty.  I get excited if I can capture some of the feel or beauty of a place.   I like to paint fast, and messily, especially with oils  - I'm a bit impatient and throw pictures away or paint over if they don't hold my interest.
