I take inspiration from my immediate environment often painting outdoors before developing larger or more abstracted works in the studio. Originally from rural Carmarthenshire, I currently paint around the River Severn from my home in Portishead, where I also organise and run portrait and landscape courses.
I often paint in oils using a limited palette to capture the beauty within this often bleak estuarine landscape.
Complementary to this I enjoy the representational challenge of portraiture.
I have recently been elected a member of Bath Society of Artists. I have shown landscapes and portraits in many galleries and venues in and around Bristol and Bath including the RWA Open Exhibition and the Bath Society of Artists, also at the Mall Galleries in London with multiple national Art Societies including the New English Art Club, Wales Contemporary Art Prize and Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
