I am an artist and adult art tutor in Somerset (19 years). I teach and therefore work in a variety of media and approaches. My work reflects this in styles and techniques. I enjoy being able to explore different aspects of painting and drawing and my work continues to evolve. I seek mood, a sense of space, and atmosphere in all my approaches, and often produce a body of work in response to what I am teaching at the time. I'm always kept on my toes!.

In my portraits I seek to capture a moment in time and love plain backgrounds and unusual compositions which force the focus onto the face, emphasise the space, the paint marks and may generate questions regarding context.
