Chiara Mensa is a Bristol-based self-taught printmaker and emerging artist who has been active since early 2022. Her work is unified by her love for the natural world and interest in the detailed observation of her surroundings, from animals and plants to inanimate objects and patterns. Chiara’s main focus is the creation of original art prints from carved lino blocks that she handprints from her home studio using a tabletop press or wooden spoon. She truly enjoys the slow making that comes with hand printing linocut blocks, embracing the tactile quality and individuality that traditional printmaking brings. Overall, her goal as an artist is to share her love of nature and encourage others to see the beauty in the world around them.
