Ceramics

Influenced by the weather through all the seasons as well as the natural beauty of our countryside, both coast and hills, I enjoy creating ceramics which can be used everyday: a vase which suits  spring flowers, a pot perfect for one particular plant or a cup or mug for a favourite hot beverage.

My ceramics are  made to be handled and used and are priced to be able to be bought as gifts. I also make a small selection of decorative Raku.

I throw all my pots and spend time perfecting them so they feel light and right in the hand whilst being mindful of the negative space their form creates  around them. I experiment all the time with different clay bodies and glazes.

My favourite pieces of the last few years have been the large flower bowl  table decorations for a wedding reception (given as gifts to the many people who helped and to  use afterwards as serving bowls), herbal tea storage jars,  flat white mugs, breakfast bowls and large plates for the Christmas cake!
