I have always enjoyed drawing, although my art teacher at school made it clear that I had no skill or talent and naturally I believed her. It was in 2000, getting on for 60, that I attended Art classes at the RWA Filton College and had the chance - with excellent teaching for 3 years - to experiment, find my style and hone my dormant creative spirit. Portraits, people in action (from the back?), animals, birds, trees, gates and footpaths. I came across mosaics by accident in 2006, visiting the tile factory in Briare, France, where their spoil heap provided free pickings. I soon decided to buy direct from their shop and started making pictures, mirrors and table tops; we found a variety of table bases/legs at second hand markets, and I would make tops accordingly. Art is like a therapy for; and my self-doubt doesn't stop me.
