Neil Thomas Roberts is a South African-born visual artist based in Bristol, celebrated for his evocative oil paintings that explore surreal, arcane-inspired themes. Infused with symbolic resonance, his work has earned him a reputation as an "idea factory"—an artist who skilfully transforms abstract concepts into cohesive and striking visual narratives.

A central body of Neil’s work is The Tarot of the Living, an ambitious, ongoing portrait series that casts friends and acquaintances as living embodiments of tarot archetypes. This project has taken him on a journey through extraordinary and unconventional experiences. His ultimate goal is to complete the full deck and publish an accompanying book, blending visual art with esoteric storytelling.

Beyond painting, Neil is also an accomplished photographer and graphic designer. He is the co-founder of 212 Productions Ltd, a boutique print company providing museum-quality giclée, c-type, and dye-sublimation prints to artists, photographers, and illustrators. With over 15 years in the industry, Neil brings a meticulous eye and technical expertise to every print.

Neil's exhibitions are immersive and theatrical—often featuring live performances such as sword swallowing, tarot readings, live music, and body art. His collaborative spirit has led to vibrant multidisciplinary shows across Bristol, London, Northampton, and South Africa. In addition to creating and exhibiting art, he teaches, curates gallery shows, and facilitates performance art events, reflecting his deep commitment to community and creative exchange.
